What Midground collects on this website and in the Midground software, and why. In short: as little as we can.
Who we are
Midground is made and sold from Norway by Pelle Nilsen, who is responsible for your data. For anything about it, write to hello@midgroundwp.com.
On this website
- Waitlist: your e-mail address, the plan you were interested in and when you confirmed. We use it only to tell you when Midground opens. Unsubscribe or ask us to delete it at any time.
- Contact form: your name, e-mail and message, to answer you.
- Beta application: your name and e-mail, and – if you give them – your agency or business, website, what you build, the tools you use today and how many websites you make a year. We use it to choose testers and to write to you about the beta, and keep it until the beta and the launch discount are over, or until you ask us to delete it.
- Feedback form: what you write, your e-mail and browser, and the screenshot and site information if you add them. It arrives as an e-mail, and we use it only to fix and improve Midground.
- Customer account: your name, e-mail address, licences and the websites you activated, to give you downloads, updates and support.
- Visitor statistics: we count page views with Koko Analytics, which runs on this website itself. It uses no cookies, stores no IP addresses and shares nothing with anyone.
- No tracking: no advertising cookies and nothing that follows you across sites.
Payment
Stripe is our reseller (merchant of record). They handle checkout, payment, VAT and invoices under their own privacy policy. We receive your name, e-mail address, country and what you bought – never your card details.
In the Midground software
- When you activate a licence, and once a day after that, Midground sends the licence key and your site’s address to this website to check it.
- When WordPress looks for updates, Midground sends the licence key, your site’s address and the installed versions to this website. We keep one line per site and day for 12 months, to deliver updates and to prevent misuse of licences.
- Nothing is ever sent from the pages your visitors see. Maps, videos and fonts load from other services only when you or your visitors choose them.
Where the data is
This website is hosted by Webhuset in Norway. E-mail from the website is sent through Brevo, an e-mail service in the EU. We do not sell or share your data with anyone else.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data at any time. You can also complain to Datatilsynet, the Norwegian data protection authority.
