For AI agents
Let your AI agent build pages that move.
Every step of building a Midground page – make it, change it, add motion, publish – is a WordPress ability. Claude Code, Cursor or Codex can use them.
One take, real time: a finished draft in 1 min 9 s · through the official WordPress MCP Adapter · your own agent – Midground calls no AI service
What the agent can do
Safe by design
It works like a person in your editor would.
One line to connect
With the MCP Adapter plugin active, Midground has its own MCP server where each of its abilities is a tool. For Claude Code and a site you reach with WP-CLI:
claude mcp add midground -- wp --path=/path/to/wordpress mcp-adapter serve --server=midground --user=editor
Cursor, Codex and live sites over HTTPS: step by step in the guide, with a skill for the agent.
Then ask
“Make a product page for our lamp Myr with a pinned scene in three steps and the 3D model, as a draft.”
- The agent reads the catalog and picks library sections.
- It makes the page as a draft, writes the texts and adds motion.
- You get a preview link and a link to the editor, to finish it by hand.
- It publishes when you say so.
Questions
Which agents work?
Any client that speaks MCP – Claude Code, Cursor and Codex among them – through the WordPress MCP Adapter. The same abilities are in the WordPress REST API, and in WP-CLI as wp midground doc.
Does Midground call an AI service, or need our API keys?
No. The agent is yours, on your account; Midground only offers what it can do on your site. Nothing is sent through us.
Can it break the site?
It can do what the WordPress user it works as can do in the Midground editor, no more. Every change is a revision, and what it saves is cleaned exactly as the editor cleans it.
What can it not do?
Upload files, or change the site’s design values, menus and theme settings – that stays in WordPress and in the Midground editor. Pictures, films and 3D models it uses must be in the media library.
What does it need?
WordPress 6.9 or later, Midground Builder and Midground Pro 1.3 or later (1.2 had it built in), and the MCP Adapter plugin from WordPress. To keep agents out, leave the MCP Adapter switched off.
