Status and known limitations

Version 1.1.0. Everything in the plan for 1.1 is done; the results are in the test report. This page lists what is not covered or has known weaknesses.

Verified only with stand-ins #

Some features talk to other companies' services with the site owner's own account or key. The tests answer those calls with local stand-ins that return the services' documented formats, so no real account or key was used:

• Google Fonts: the catalogue and font files are answered by a local stand-in. Copying a real font from fonts.gstatic.com has not been tried in the tests.
• Google Maps: the map address is built as Google documents it (Maps Embed API), but no map was loaded with a real key. OpenStreetMap maps were loaded for real.
• Google Places (reviews) and Trustpilot: requests follow the services' documentation and are tested against example responses written from that documentation, not the live APIs.
• AI assistant (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini): tested with a stand-in that answers like each service; not against the live services.
• Licence shops (Easy Digital Downloads, Lemon Squeezy): tested with a stand-in shop; no real shop is set up yet.
• Form and booking plugins: Contact Form 7 and Amelia are represented by small stand-in plugins that register the same shortcodes and data; Gravity Forms, WPForms, Fluent Forms, Ninja Forms, Bookly, Simply Schedule Appointments, BookingPress and LatePoint are detected and rendered through their documented shortcodes, but the real plugins were not installed.
• SEO plugins and multilingual plugins (Yoast SEO, Rank Math, SEOPress, WPML, Polylang): detection and cooperation are tested with stand-ins for their functions and filters.
• Cookie plugins: cooperation is tested through the WP Consent API and the plugins' documented JavaScript events, not with the real plugins.

Not tested #

• Real devices: browsers are tested with Playwright's Chromium, Firefox and WebKit on Windows, with desktop and phone emulation (Pixel 7, iPhone 14). WebKit on Windows is close to, but not the same as, Safari on a Mac or an iPhone. Nothing was tried on physical phones.
• Screen readers: accessibility is tested automatically (axe-core, WCAG 2.1 A/AA) and with keyboard navigation, not manually with NVDA, JAWS or VoiceOver.
• WooCommerce: tested with simple and variable products, the block cart and checkout, and cash on delivery. Not tested: grouped and external products, other payment methods, the classic (shortcode) checkout, subscriptions, several currencies.
• Multisite: uninstalling handles multisite in the code, but it was not tested on a network.
• Performance: measured locally (Docker on the same machine) with emulated throttling (4× CPU, "Slow 4G"), not with Lighthouse and not over a real network.

Limits of the features #

• Languages: the plugin, theme, starter sites and demo are in English and Norwegian (Bokmål). WordPress's own Norwegian language pack (for WordPress and WooCommerce) is not included; choose Norwegian under Settings → General and WordPress downloads it. The Skumring showcase is written in Norwegian.
• Starter site fonts: each starter site suggests Google fonts. If they cannot be copied (for example without internet access), the bundled Schibsted Grotesk or Newsreader is used, and the site looks a little different from its preview.
• Starter site pictures are neutral placeholders, not photos.
• Editing together: one person edits at a time (WordPress's post lock, with the option to take over). There is no real-time collaboration.
• Undo history lasts for the open session; revisions and autosaves cover longer periods.
• 3D: only self-contained .glb files (and .gltf with embedded data). glTF with separate .bin or texture files is refused with an explanation. KTX2/Basis textures are not supported.
• The static copy without the plugin shows text, pictures, links and the basic layout; motion, 3D (the poster shows), tabs and accordions, sliders, popups and the exact design need the plugin.
• Custom HTML with scripts is kept only for users with unfiltered_html (administrators on single sites); for others the scripts are removed.
• The canvas toolbar is hidden from screen readers (to avoid duplicates); the same actions are in the Layers panel, under Element actions and as keyboard shortcuts.
• Page transitions use the browser's View Transitions for page loads; browsers without them simply change page.
• Google reviews show at most five reviews (a limit of Google's API).
